Wellbeing Fayres 2020

Good Mental Health and Wellbeing in the community….

Do you ever feel anxious, stressed or socially isolated? Do you want to find out more about local support and services available in Portsmouth? Maybe you’d just like to give your own wellbeing a boost?

Our Wellbeing Fayres will be popping up at different venues across Portsmouth throughout 2020 – free and open to everyone! Come along and meet a range of stalls who can chat to you about the local support they offer in the city. You can also take part in free taster workshops, relax with creative activities or take a living ‘Book’ out from our interactive Books Alive! stall.

You may have previously been to one of our Good Mental Health drop-in Cafe’s, running monthly at Portsmouth Central Library since April 2018 – our final drop-in Cafe at this location was in December 2019. Our Wellbeing Fayres will be offering a very similar experience with stalls, taster workshops and other activities, but held in different venues in Portsmouth – initially in the north of the city.

Our next Fayres will be at Paulsgrove Community Centre in March and at the Mountbatten Leisure Centre in May. Details below!

Coming up soon…..

Tuesday 17th March, 10am – 2pm, Paulsgrove Community Centre, PO6 4JB

Would you like to know more about what’s available for you at Paulsgrove Community Centre and in the wider local area? Come along to our Wellbeing Fayre; meet and chat to local support services and community groups; take part in workshops and activities running throughout the day including confidence building and gentle exercise; find out what your local Community Centre has to offer!

More details about the organisations and community groups holding stalls at this event will be available soon.

Free Taster Workshops

  • 10.30am – 11.30am Confidence Building with Maria Ganderton –  Build confidence to overcome self doubt, discover purpose and learn how to take positive steps forward in your life. This taster is also an opportunity to find out if Maria’s upcoming free course – starting at Paulsgrove Community Centre in April – could be right for you. Please note, this workshop will be held in the upstairs meeting room and there is no lift access.
  • 12pm – 1pm Gentle Exercise – A light and low impact session involving gentle movements and simple techniques for everyday fitness. This workshop will be held in the Sports Hall.

Drop-in support

  • IT drop-in between 10am-2pm – The IT suite will be open throughout the day with Paulsgrove Community Centre staff on hand to demonstrate how to access a range of self-help resources and online support websites which can be used to support good mental health.
  • Gym drop-in between 10am-12pm and 1pm-2pm – An opportunity to take a look around the gym and chat to gym staff about what’s on offer at the Centre, whether that be memberships or fitness classes. Please note, the gym is located upstairs and there is no lift access.
