Good Mental Health and Wellbeing in the community….
Do you ever feel anxious, stressed or socially isolated? Do you want to find out more about local support and services available in Portsmouth? Maybe you’d just like to give your own wellbeing a boost?
Our Wellbeing Fayres will be popping up at different venues across Portsmouth throughout 2020 – free and open to everyone! Come along and meet a range of stalls who can chat to you about the local support they offer in the city. You can also take part in free taster workshops, relax with creative activities or take a living ‘Book’ out from our interactive Books Alive! stall.
You may have previously been to one of our Good Mental Health drop-in Cafe’s, running monthly at Portsmouth Central Library since April 2018 – our final drop-in Cafe at this location was in December 2019. Our Wellbeing Fayres will be offering a very similar experience with stalls, taster workshops and other activities, but held in different venues in Portsmouth – initially in the north of the city.
You’ll find our first Fayres at the Mountbatten Centre in February and at Paulsgrove Community Centre in March. Details below!

Stalls, free taster workshops, creative activities and more! Also, as our first Fayre is at the Mountbatten Centre, the BH Live team will be there too, chatting to visitors about the regular activities already on offer at the centre (and giving out free day passes!) – it will also be an opportunity to find out about Portsmouth Interaction, their sport and recreation service for people experiencing a mental health condition. Take part in workshops running throughout the day – drop in and enjoy a free 30 minute taster session on seated exercise or Nordic walking. Details below!

Free Taster Workshops
- 10.30 – 11am Seated Exercise – starts with a warm up followed by strength and conditioning exercises using resistance bands and balls, finishing with a cool down and stretch.
- 12 – 12.30pm Nordic Walking – a low impact exercise which activates 90% of the body’s muscles to tone, strengthen and develop core stability.
- 1.30 – 2pm Seated Exercise – as above
